The First

How on earth do you right a first post on a blog? Considering this blog has been created to keep people at home up to date on my life at college, and as of right now I'm still laying in my bed at said home, there isn't too much to say.

The thought of going off to college is a scary thing. Exciting, but still very scary. I'm going to miss my dad horribly, but at last we can still talk on the phone often, and probably Skype every couple of days as well. The hardest will be to leave my beautiful babies: Koakoa the old shepherd, Roxy the anxiety-ridden heeler, Popo the enthusiastic poodle (and my only given son), and Lola the affectionate basset hound. Many people have a fear of dogs. I have a fear of people who don't like dogs. In my mind, to dislike - or even have no appreciation for - dogs is to dislike the simplest yet most wonderful aspects of life: enthusiasm, unconditional love, a good nap, and being absolutely happy no matter how frugally you're living. I have learned more from my dogs in my eighteen years of my life than any teacher or book. Dogs are a constant reminder to quit sweating the small things and focus on the three important principles of life: Live, Love, Learn.

Although I will miss my dogs dearly at college, the local humane society is just minutes outside of campus and I plan to get my fix volunteering there a couple of hours a week.
